FIAPF is a non-profit organisation. Its
Secretariat is located in Paris, France. The organisation started in
1933.
FIAPF’s governing structures are its General Assembly and its
Executive Committee.
The FIAPF General Assembly is the organ in which all key decisions
about the organisation’s strategic priorities, its budget and
statutes, are made. The President of FIAPF is elected by the General
Assembly for a term of two years, as are the other members of the Executive
Committee, the two Auditors. The General Assembly meets twice a year.
All countries have an equal vote, regardless of their size or contribution
to the budget.
The FIAPF Executive Committee is made-up of Members elected by the
General Assembly from their own ranks. The Committee is chaired by
the President and is made-up of the First Vice-President, five Vice-Presidents
elected by the General Assembly, the Treasurer, the auditors and three
or more representatives designated by their respective Member organisations
and called by the President to serve on the Committee. The Executive
Committee meets as often as may be required by the President for the
conduct of FIAPF’s affairs.
